Canadian Forces Decoration

The Canadian Forces Decoration is awarded to Canadian Forces Members who have completed twelve years of service, and have a good record of conduct during their final eight years of service. A bar is awarded for for subsequent periods of ten years. The obverse features the uncrowned head of queen Elizabeth II facing right. The words ELIZABETH II DEI ° GRATIA REGINA ° CANADA are inscribed around the edges of the medal. The reverse is a crown representing the navy, maple leaves representing the army, and an eagle representing the air force.

 
Medal of Military Valour

The Medal of Military Valour is awarded for acts of valour or devotion to duty in the presence of the enemy. It is not restricted to times of war but includes operational theatres with the United Nations and national security operations. The obverse features a maple leaf surrounded by a laurel wreath. The reverse shows the Royal Cypher and Crown with the words PRO VALOUR.

 
Victoria Cross

The Victoria Cross is awarded for acts of conspicuous bravery or pre-eminent act or valour in the presence of the enemy. A bar is awarded for additional acts of bravery. The obverse depicts the Royal Crown with a lion guardant and scroll inscribed FOR VALOUR below. The reverse has raised edges with the date of the act engraved in a raised circle.
