SYC Work party information page:

The major 2008 spring cleanup will be held Saturday, June 14 08:00 -12:00. Members should bring work gloves, shovels, brooms, rakes, wheelbarrows, mowers and/or gas trimmers and other tools that will assist in the cleanup and ensure that each members time is is used to best advantage.

This is a great opportunity for the club to tidy up the facility as we start our sailing season in earnest. Our best effort in this cleanup is one of the ways that we extend a welcome to our individual guests, members of other clubs and visiting sailors.
The SYC constitution (2c) and By-Laws (4a,b) specifically discuss volunteer effort and the self-help nature of the club.. ByLaw 4b states "Acceptance of this principal of self-help, and active participation in it, are a condition of membership."
